Well, I got up this am at 5:00 and jumped on MY BIKE. I did over an hour with some one legged drills and fast pedalling thrown in for good times. Watched the movie "Notes to a Scandal". Pretty good, I liked it. Better than "Michael Clayton" from the other night...I did not get that show...the gal who won the Oscar did very good however her character was annoying.
JP called me yesterday. Oh my god. Here comes the fun. We talked in depth about the grand plan because I just needed to hear it...he tends to have the attitude of "it will all come together" but being me, I have to know more of what is going on in his head. So here's the deal. Run, run and run some more for about six weeks. And welcome to "the brick". Once I am comfortable to get on my bike outside, then we are biking...LOTS. I said about six weeks (?)...I actually have no idea...I have heard of some people heading out now, but really, seriously, I think I would literally DIE. I remember having my motorcyle and plating it one year March 15...and riding it THAT DAY! So maybe we will be out much sooner...I should ask someone...
So back to the weekend agenda...thinking of going for a run tomorrow am as the weather is supposed to be nice and I love running in the mornings as the sun is coming up. Swimming on Sunday. Some drinks after work today (It's a leap year! Reason to celebrate! And the last day of my busy month!) Haircuts for the boys, shopping trip for mom, Home Depot, a Dance Revolution tourney at a friend's place Saturday night, and possibly a snowman on our front lawn.

With, according to your nifty counter, less than 130 FRICKING DAYS before GWN 1/2, I'll be hitting the road a lot sooner than 6 weeks!! I am actually thinking I will put my nubs back on my mountain bike and start riding to work - that bike is way harder to fall off of :) I figure I could add in an additional saddle time of 150 minutes just by getting to work :)
You know, quite honestly I love the brick workouts. The first few (back in October) were hard with "Arnold" legs - remember the noises we made when we got off our bikes at Frank Dunn? But now, I can honestly say I do not even notice my legs when I get off the bike to run (lol - it only took me 16 weeks!!) I think you'll love them too :)
I know...that's why I think I should ask somebody...It was one of those things I just said and said it like I knew what I was talking about but really...I didn't know!!
Having said all I did, it could snow and we'd be in the basement another6 weeks ...lol
130 days is forever! Well, practically it is. Anything could happen.
Riding to work would be a great way of building time on the bike. I'd do whenever the paths were good, if only they'd get the shower installed at work.
Bricks are fun. The others in the house (wife, cat) have learned not to get in my way as I change and head up the stairs and out the door. Focussed, that was the word.
