Have you seen the weather forecast?
Have you seen it for Saturday for our little city of Saskatoon? That's right, minus 4 degrees!! Holy Cow!! Perfect weather for a half marathon. Even as positive as this news is, it brings about a serious issue...what the heck do I wear?! I have been training in the bitter cold with layer over layer and neck warmers and double mits and fleece pants and long underwear. Now what do I do? I am to do a 15 minute walk today...that's it...a walk...wow, the training plan actually says WALK. And tomorrow a 30 minute run. And then Saturday is the run. I am a bit nervous to be truthful. I have not gone this far in a very long time. Another issue, my runs have not been long enough to carry any gels or drinks. Definitely I will need some of this on Saturday. How many gels? This is why when training for the long distances you need to practice everything....including what to do with nutrition. And I have to find my sunglasses as I have not ran in daylight for several months. This is going to be an experience!!
