pre-christmas swim

Moved my workouts around this week as there were some tri people heading to the YWCA today for a swim and I wanted to go. My workout went a little something like this:

250 easy swim

250 pull

10 x 100 meters on 1:35 leaving on 1:45 (these were hard...which is unfortuneate as those are not all that fast...for lil ole me)

15 minutes of chatting and giggling at the end of the pool to finish it off.

Did I mention I am a social triathlete?

So....I ventured to the Calgary half ironman website last night.

HOLY.

CRAP.

Has anyone else been there? Have you SEEN the elevation chart? wtf? I don't remember seeing that when I signed up...what is with that first part? Me sees some hill training coming for this prairie girl.

Have a very Merry Christmas everyone!!

Be safe, laugh lots and eat more.

Enjoy the time with family and friends. Catch up with y'all in the new year!!

The Road to Nepal is calling Yooooouuuuuuuu!

For a while I was thinking this was the same road that Susi, Jenna and me did in June, but it's not. Next road over. It looks like only 150 m up spread over 15 Km. you'll hardly notice. Then the rest is down hill, well except for one little bit.

And this is a good thing!!! You'll be so frigging cold coming out of the water, you want to be going slow, going up hill, to start getting some body heat going to warm up again. I haven't been in that water myself, but I've been told there are ice chunks taking out sailboarders in August. Personally, I think they're exaggerating just a bit.

my dear sweet kelly. fret not. mi casa es su casa. bring your butt out here and we'll do some hill training. the route the race is on is my stomping ground. it's my 'short ride' route that i do and i promise it's not scary.

keith, we did ride part of the 70.3course. we rode up what the athletes will be riding down - horse creek.

it's a gorgeous course kelly - you'll love it!!
