minus holy shit it's cold

This training through the holidays works for me. I feel like I have so much time!! No school, no kid's activities, work is super duper slow....I snuck out and test drove cars yesterday...oops. People are just not thinking about their money right now. And I am hoping their November statements have been put under all the other holiday mail they receive...
Yesterday was a recovery bike ride. On my new year's list of things to do, is my recovery rides/runs cause I never do them. They don't make sense to me. Then I actually read the CTS website on what their definition of a recovery workout is and now it sort of makes sense. I just find them boring...was supposed to do 45 minutes yesterday and I had to force myself to spin my way to 30. I kept telling myself, this is mental training...if I don't have a specific workout to do then I will find something else to do!
Today was a run. I got up in good time, got updated on all my websites (CNN; facebook; local tri site; local paper; the NFL; local weather) Minus 42 with the wind. Niiice. What are we on the moon here? Jeepers. Then I had all sorts of reasons as to why I should not go out to the suckmill (thank-you to Steeve in a Speedo for that word!! Hilarious.)
I will get sick.
My car might not start.
I am tired.
My hands get cold and I hate running indoors when my hands have been cold.
The creep that I think lives in the building and slinks by the gym when I am in there. Thank-god the door locks and you need a pass to get in!
I should really get a handle on our laundry from the last few days.
I am tired.
I did not sleep last night.
BUT the good news is, I DID make my way to the gym...told myself to just run slow for a few minutes and see how it goes. Turns out it went really well! Did all my intervals, 3 times 10 minutes in my steady state heart rate with some easy jogging in between.
All told, 50 minutes on the suckmill.

The treadmill...ahhhh I know. Last night I was trying to hold back the gas as I chugged away on the "suckmill" but a few little tufts managed to pop out. My iPod was cranked so I kept telling myself, if I didn't hear it than the old guy on the treadmill next to me didn't either. Eeep.

LOL!!!

Yahoo for you! Not a fan of the treadmill either, but cranked it out this am.

There might be a million reasons to NOT do something, but they can all be overturned by remembering who's in charge. All those reasons, or you?
