The things I will do for a Roastery coffee...

Well, gang...it's done!! My first serious brick workout. Got up at 5:00am and was on the bike by about 5:15. Did an hour and 20 minutes...okay this was 10 minutes shorter than what I was supposed to do but I noticed that my front tire was flat (?). Not sure how long it had been flat but now my tire changing skills are going to be put to the test sometime this weekend!! Off the bike and change my clothes, all of them. I was dripping sweat and had to change everything as I did not want to head out into the cold with wet clothes. I was SO excited to run!! Something is seriously wrong with me...at the first corner, a guy in a truck was watching me and I wanted to go up to his window and tell him "I was on my bike for 80 minutes this morning and NOW I am running!! I am just a bit closer to my goal!! Isn't that COOL!!" But it was only about 7:00am and he would have most likely called the police. Anyway, Justin had advised me to try to get on my running legs as soon as possible after my bike. My "transition time" was horrid at around 10 minutes as I could not find my lip gloss...and Julie has just said "OH for HEAVEN'S SAKE!!!" But out the door I head and the first 10-15 minutes were okay, and I found my legs very soon after that. The run went really good, ran the entire hour. Garmin tells me I averaged about a 9:51 minute mile so that is pretty good as that is what I normally run even if not just off the bike!! I was expecting to be super, super slow so had to run around the Broadway and Victoria bridges a couple of times to fill up the hour as I had promised myself a Roastery coffee at the end of this!! But it is DONE!! And the coffee was excellent...and I walked home from the Roastery enjoying the sights of Broadway and the sun coming up. A perfect day so far!!

What a great start to the day; good for you. I love doing my workouts early. (today is my rest day). Even though I'm chuckling at the lack of lip gloss.

I'm kind of (unexpectedly) enjoying the organizational aspects of all this fitness. On Monday night I have to get myself organized for a Tuesday am run, and pm bike with no visit home in between. That means setting up to wear running clothes to start, packing work clothes, packing all bike workout stuff into the car, plus 3 meals. Tomorrow is brick, so I get all bike stuff organized, and running gear in a neat pile on a couch near the bike. 3 or 4 minutes to change and I'm out the door and gone. Not that I run as long as you, or as far, or as fast. Whodathunk people could run like normal after a bike session?

And that's not even talking about laundry. It never ends. Oops, washer stopped, must go....

Way to go!!!!!!You did it! I know exactly how you feel when you get all excited about your workouts. That's why triathlons are so addictive -- you just feel so darn good all the time!!

Just think how fast you'll be in transition when you have your lip gloss (is it still bad kitty? hahaha!) tucked in your running shoes. LOL!!! :) :) :)
