Week Three

Got this from the Carmichael group today: Negative self-talk, which includes: focusing on things outside of your control, worrying about what your competitors may think, or focusing on the outcome instead of the process, decreases your self-confidence, motivation, and ultimately, performance. So, stop that "stinkin' thinkin'" and replace the negative comments with positive ones, and you will train and race better.

I have made it into week number three. And I SLEPT last night...the entire night!! I have not slept an entire night for several years. The biggest reason I excercise...is so I SLEEP. On the agenda this week...a run tomorrow, a swim and bike ride on Wednesday, a bike ride on Friday, Michael Buble concert Friday night, run Saturday morning. No problem!! My 5 year old starts his activities this week as well...swimming (of course, do you think I would have a kid who does not know how to swim?) tonight, and gymnastics tomorrow night.

Excellent news on the sleep. And I like the message from your coaching group. I have much the same rule, only I call it "The Floating Elephant Rule."
