a very early run

I have a pet peeve with my husband. Okay...I have a few, but the biggest one is that he is not and never has been very good at planning/organizing things. As in he tells me last night as we are going to bed at 10:30...he has to leave for work at 6:00am.
Ummmmm....I have a 90 minute run to do! I have NO TIME to do it other than in the morning!! We negotiate and he can leave no later than 6:30am.
This means I have to be OUT the door by 5:00am. The sun wasn't even up yet. It was still dark. I was kind of grumpy at the start. But it was quiet and I channelled Kara Goucher and it felt amazing! Then I remembered how I love to run in the mornings. The instructions were to just run, don't look at your heart rate, run at your "all day pace". So that was what I did and clipped off 15km in 90 minutes. And I saw Chuck's boy-crush out on his bike so it was a good morning.
In other news, Matthew got his next stripe last night at TKD. Yey! We are off to open the cabin hopefully on Sunday...this is a wee bit early in the year but we have rented it to a friend for 3 months as he is going to school in PA and needs a place to stay Mon-Fri (and when I say rented, I really mean he has agreed to help us put new shingles on this summer so we are letting him stay there...) Next up is a bike ride tomorrow. Please say a small prayer for my toes as we are heading out in the morning and I have only 2 hours to do but tri-buddy Shannon has 4 hours and it is going to be damned chilly.

Once you get awake enough to lace up your shoes, morning runs are the best. Not many other people around, it's not too hot, you aren't carrying all the crap that has accumulated from the day's activities. What's not to like?

That's quite the pace for 'all day pace'!!! I'd love to be able to do that at all, let alone for all day. Good for you!
