Have missed 3 workouts in a row.
Have I been sick?
Nope.
Have I been busy?
Not really.
Have I been tired?
Nah.
Now, hear me out before you start calling me a hack...Saturday I had booked a long-for-me bike ride in the morning. Friday afternoon it was so snowy and cold, the bike ride was called off. When I woke up Saturday morning, it was beautiful!! But still around minus 8...which in my opinion is too damn cold and I really don't want to be hating bike rides this time of year. Yeah...could of got on the trainer, but Luke had gotten up and we were having a nice little breakfast together so the trainer ride did not happen. The rest of the day was shot, because some people (my spouse's relatives) believe we ALL want to attend a kid's birthday party for 5.5 hours on a Saturday afternoon...so annoying...seriously, the cake did not come out until after 7:30pm and I was so antsy to get outta there as my weekend, by this time, was shot.
Sunday came and off to the cabin we go and it is open for business. It was a gorgeous day up in the north and we hung out and ate fire cooked hot dogs and sat in our yard out of the wind and in the sunshine. Loved. It. But no Sunday swim.
Today was supposed to be a recovery ride...from...what? I had an early meeting today and lots going on tonight, so no ride today either.
Oh well.

Sometimes life just happens :) It was such a great day on Saturday and I so badly wanted to ride in the afternoon - but I was not well. Still mad I missed the first NO WIND SUNNY day!!!
The only reason there isn't a wine glass in my hand is that it isn't a good shape for carrying liquids in when you run. And, you can't drink from them when you're lying on your back.
Minus 8 is indeed to fricking cold to go out on a bike. I don't even consider it it if it's below freezing. The unscheduled rest will do you good.
I like what Keith said about the unscheduled rest -- you'll need it for all the other workouts coming at you! :) :)
Eating hot dogs at the cabin sounds divine... :) :)
I assume your spouse's relatives don't read this? :)
Sounds like "life happened" and it's ok to skip workouts because of that. We all do it. Sounds like you had a great b-fast with your son. :)
