I beat my husband at Scrabble last night! It was close and I beat him by one measly point...my winning word was "JOA". What the H is that? We have an xBox and play online so the computer tells you what letters work etc so there is no bickering about what is a word and what is not. But I have never even heard of the word "joa"...? Help? I have an avitar and everything...but you should see her, Shaun was setting me up and asked what I wanted and I lamely said "Just do whatever". My avitar looks like a librarian that works at Hooters part-time...my online name is "Trigrrrrl" Get it? Dorky!!
Anyhoooo...nothing else is really new. I am getting really cagey with this weather. Really restless. In my past lives, this has only brought bad news. So I am just trying to be patient and wait it out and keep myself busy. I just e-mailed my bros in Calgary. I want to head out there for a few days to visit with him and my sista. If you have been following along, my sista has MS and has had a very bad spell over the past month...couldn't walk, has lost the feeling in her right hand, a hospital stay blah, blah. Been a tough go. She is terrified. I am pulling for her and I feel she needs some family support so off I go to Calgary. And I am going to sneak my gear in the back of my truck...
Was suppposed to be a recovery week this week. I e-mailed Coach Justin on Sunday that I was concerned I was not doing "enough". As in it was supposed to be a big week of training, at the end of a three week block, and I was tired but not exhausted as I had been at the end of other blocks like that. He assured me that this was actually very good news! It means I am getting fitter. It is taking me longer to reach that point of I just can't do it anymore. I was worried I was not doing the workouts properly or something but he insisted that it is progress and it is hard to tell when we don't have many races/events to gauge things.
Speaking of races and events...a small change of plans...I have agreed to be on a team for the Frank Dunn Tri in August. I am swimming (of course) my tri-buddy Shannon is running and a new gal I have just recently met briefly is biking. I felt a HUGE weight lift when I fired the e-mail back to Shannon...this race is 1500m swim/62km bike/13km run...ONE WEEK after my half ironman...too much for me, I have concluded, at the end of summer. I now get to swim, go for breakfast, have a coffee, hang out, take my kids to the park, enjoy the day!! My pledge to the team is to swim straight this year....
