Took those couple of days off work to get lots of jobs done. The kitchen is looking very, very nice!! I am super impressed with myself...hee hee!!
Had a hard run to do Friday and it was a pretty nice day, kind of cloudy but much warmer than I have ran in for a long time so did not want to waste ANY nice weather! Drove down to the freeway bridge and started from there...legs felt tired and heavy for the first little bit but once I go warmed up, holy cow....I was flyin!! What a run!! There were several places that the snow had completely melted and I was running on...wait for it...can you believe it...pavement!! What a difference not having to worry about your footing and constantly looking down...Coach Justin once said that running in snow is hard mentally cause you are constantly thinking about your footing. Alot of energy is used just thinking about where to put your foot every single step. Can't say I have ever thought about it that much but I do have to say that those few miles on Friday running on the pavement and how good I felt....Can't WAIT for my May half marathon!!!
Was supposed to to a 90 minute bike ride yesterday but just could not get to it. Did not sleep worth a damn Friday night and Luke is now up at the crack of dawn with the sun...argh! Yeah...about 6:30am, he is up and ready for the day. Last night I tacked the heaviest, darkest blankets I could find on his windows as he needs his sleep, and is done with his naps, and is a little whiney bear later in the day without his sleep!! Last night he slept right to 8:00am...I have outsmarted my 2.5 year old.
I wanted to get that bike ride in so the only option was to get my butt outta bed today and do it before swimming. Happy to report...okay, only 80 minutes...but it is still done...and all the intervals so good for me!! Off to swimming I go all sweaty and gross hair and I had forgotten to take my suit out of my bag from my Wed swim....all together now...EWWWWW!!! An icky sight was I at swimming today!
But the swim itself was a very good one. Not many meters, but did some race pace stuff and I swam with the fast boys today and kept on their feet. Was going to move down a lane, because I was barely keeping up in the warm-up, but the swim coach made some comment about "take off your skirt" to one of the guys as we were starting the main set and for some reason, this totally pissed me off!!! Was he implying that girls cannot be fast? Was he saying that only boys are tuff? What was he implying with that comment? It. Pissed. Me. OFF!!! (I know this is just guy-talk that goes on...and I work with all men, and live with all men, I totally get the guy-talk...but it sometimes still just annoys me...)
Made my way up the lane (one of the fellows even left the swim as it was too hard...) and ended up having a super good workout...kachow!!
