Up today way to early for a Saturday. Felt like running the bridges today so I drove to the Roastery, which is kind of embarrassing as it is about 6 blocks from my house, but I still don't 100% trust this leg of mine and wanted an easy out if I needed it!! AND I wanted a Roastery coffee after the run. Got there just before 7:00am and there were some other tri people that I recognized but I didn't feel like running with them so I was rude and headed in the other direction...not to mention that the group that usually shows up on Saturday am is fast and I am not so not a good fit!! Anyway, was a beautiful run...got in 50 minutes...constant running...yippee!! What an amazing time of year Fall is...the riverbank in Toon Town is gorgeous right now. Happened to run into ChrisG at the Roastery and we had our coffees and chatted for a bit...her husband has done the Ironman countless times (not kidding there, I think they have lost count...) and I had had a good long talk with her a week or so ago about Ironman Arizona and she was the one who gave me the dirty goods on the time commitment etc and that was the last nail in the coffin on my Ironman goal for now. On that note, I can't believe how the weight just lifted off of me after making that decision...which means it was the right one for now. Whew!
Our lives are inspired by the dreams we have from the earliest stages of our youth. When you combine passion and hard work, then success is always possible. While no road is every straight, dedication and persistence will always lead you to your dreams.
