My Dad was a farmer and I remember him having a tough time with the winters here on the prairies. Too cold, not enough to do. I have not had this problem as my busiest time at work is Jan/Feb and into March a bit, so I am focused on other stuff. But this year!! OMG!! I am going CRAZY with this friggin weather! 10-15cm of SNOW. AGAIN. WTF!!! Am I ever getting on that bike? How in the hell am I going to do 90km on July 6? And then RUN afterwards? Holy Crikey. I talked for a bit today with a tri-buddy who is also coached by the Carmichael Group and we talked about doing an Arizona trip for some biking next winter...anybody else in? We can stay at my mom's place...seriously...I am doing it. Watch me.
Anyway, maybe this crappy weather is a good thing because my leg still hurts and I cannot see an physio person until Monday. Argh. So I am telling myself that I can't ride outside anyway, my leg is bummed, The Universe is telling me something....it will be okay. I have looked at my next month of training and I see a 3:30 bike ride on May 17...That's THREE HOURS and THIRTY minutes!!! ON THE BIKE!!! EEEEK!!! Put that on your calendar everyone...that will be a HUGE milestone in my triathlon life!!

1. I am IN for Arizona!!! Can we go NOW??
2. I have marked my calendar. I will be there to see you get off your bike at 3:30 hours :) Yeah Kelly.
3. I hate winter. I am WHITE. PASTEY. UNHEATHLY.
4. Order us up a little sunshine.
5. If I "pretend" there is no snow and just ride my bike anyway - maybe I will fool Mother Nature. maybe she will think SHE is seeing things - I mean who would cycle in the snow??
OMG!! Look at the ticker - 71 DAYS?????
I was talking to a friend about how I felt after a long ride. A female friend. A mother. She rolled her eyes, and said "Do you REALLY want me to go on about childbirth?"
You'll do just fine.
What Keith said...he is wise.
Seriously though, you will do great.
lol.funny - short. sweet. he is right. but i know that, and you know that. You'll be a bawling 1/2 ironman finisher :)
You are going to do awesome Kelly-- try not to think about the whole 3:30 chunk. Try looking it as only 7 little chunks of 30 minutes. 30 minutes is easy to do!!
I'm in for Arizona!!!!!!!!! :) :) :)
