Light Training Week

As usual, Monday is a rest day. I have learned the importance of these days. My legs were beat tired this morning!! It's no secret, I am slow on that darn bike. I hear and read of all the kilometers others are doing right now and I have tried to hold my panic in check...look at my ticker!! So I got on the phone with Justin today and wanted to know, shouldn't I be putting more time in this week? And he says "Nope, you have to train smart because of time constraints. There is plenty of time to get that mileage up and I want you to go as hard as you can go at the duathlon this weekend. So we are resting just a wee bit and I want to see what your fitness is like during an event like that on not so tired legs." Already then.
On the agenda this week, a run tomorrow, a swim on Wednesday and a bike ride on Thursday. And I am taking the yellow cervelo into the bike shop tomorrow as I could not shift my gears into the big ring yesterday. I was going with the wind and it would have been fun to see how fast I could go!! She is in dire need of a tune up and some adjusting so into the doctor she goes.

You are doing so awesome, Kelly!! I know its next to impossible trying not to compare yourself to others, but just focus on yourself. Everyone is so different -- we all have different strengths and weaknesses, so training schedules should look completely different. Can you imagine if I just decided to try swimming your workouts? ARRRGGHHH -- I'd be drowned at the bottom of the pool with all the hair balls and stray bandaids!! LOL!!

The only person you can compare yourself to is you. You have already come so far -- remember when you said for years you swam on a relay team and then finally you decided to go it alone? You are doing so great!! Your coach has got you this far - trust in him! It's funny, these coaches really do know what they are talking about!! LOL! ;)
