toughin it out...

I hate croup. Both my kids get croupy in the spring and the fall. Nothing you can really do about it but listen to them cough all night...this has been my last few days.

I missed my Thursday run because holy lord I needed sleep!! And it was an amazing sleep. Got up Friday morn and got that hard run in. Warm-up, some 1 kilometer repeats, run home. It is nice to finally run in daylight!!

On top of the no sleep thing, we have had a super busy week. Hockey, TKD, general running around, oh and work...

This all brings me to my run yesterday. I had 3 hours on the schedule and a sore foot. I don't know what is wrong with my foot but it is the top of it that is sore...if I have to crouch or go up on my tippy toes or if I move the wrong way...eeee-ouch!!! But it only hurts for about the first 4 minutes of a run...?? Weird. And when I kick at swimming.
So back to my run. Met some pretty awesome gals who were chatty and fun and all training for their first half marathon in April. And so very excited to run that far!! I admired them as they reminded of me when I started out on this crazy path of ultra fitness...We ran together for about 18km and then I continued on for the last 12km. Saw Jenn and Chuck on the path, ran up behind Jen and possibly scared the sh*t out of her!! I thought it was funny but her? Maybe not...
Today was a swim...and it was a hard swim with tired legs and that sore foot. Started in the second fastest lane and moved up to the fastest lane as boys don't like to let girls by!! I would have rather led the 2nd fastest lane but turned out to be a super hard and fast swim with the big dogs. They were holding 2:40s for 200s....yeah....and I was NOT holding that but hanging on for dear life with a bum foot....
And I was thinking on the way home today...I ran 30km yesterday and swam 3500 meters today...could I claim the last 24 hours as ALMOST 2/3 of an IRONMAN!!???
Can I?
Can I?

Can I come take swim lessons from you?

Yes it was funny. I was wondering who the hell was doing the one foot shuffle behind and when the hell they were gonna pass me. And then, you started to run sideways, into my personal space bubble.... lucky I recognized you as you were a few seconds away from a black eye ;) Just kidding. We had a pretty good run - that wind was something though - and even more something with the wet clothes....
