that's two for two

Two days and two bike rides. Am I the minority that does not mind the trainer? I always have a workout to do and the time actually goes by not too bad. Plus I have to download everything to Coach Justin so I can't cheat....he sees everything!
Next up is a run and then another bike ride and a swim on Sunday....here I go again...getting sorted out for winter training. Training without thinking. That's why I have a coach, I don't have time to research anything, I tell Coach Justin all the time, just tell me what to do and I will do it...I can't think too much about it. The tricky workout will be my Saturday run that HAS TO get done before the 8:00am hockey practice.....hmmmmm.
About hockey. Had our first parent's meeting last night. I love these parents!! All so keen and nice and relaxed and fun. Some interesting folk there last night that I am looking forward to getting to know better. One of the mom's is a runner...have not met her before but trains with one of the fastest runners in town so maybe we could hook up for a couple of runs over the winter. Maybe, if I feel like getting my ego crushed. She wants to do a triathlon so I may have found a new training partner!! We are already planning the parents' Christmas party...because really, its all about us. Tier 3 hockey ROCKS!!!
In other news, I told Coach Justin I wanted to buy a new bike. Here is how the conversation went:
JP: Why do you want a new bike?
Me: Because my bike is old and it does not go fast enough.
JP: Does is fit you properly?
Me: Yes....I have had it fitted.
JP: Maybe go and have it re-fitted just to be sure.
Me: But I think I want a new bike!!
JP: If the bike is mechanically sound and it fits you, we have LOTS of room to improve before a new bike.
Me: Sigh.

Kelly! Don't tell me you have fallen into the pit of BIKE LUST, no doubt coming from looking at too much BIKE PORN in the triathlete magazines. Sigh. I'm sooooo disappointed in you. :-)

Think of it this way. He has saved you several thousand $$$ that you can now legitimately spend on other stuff, like Victoria's Secret underwear and skimpy swimwear to put on during a vacation somewhere warm. Imagine, training on a beach. Renting the kids out to relatives. Working on your tan while attractive people bring you fruity drinks with the little umbrellas in them. There, giving up the bike isn't so bad now, is it?

You need race wheels to go faster -- that's what you should spend your $$$$ on!

I enjoy the trainer too, but I am pretty lucky, I have a Computrainer, so I LOVE trainer rides! :) :)
