Having trouble sleeping so not getting any workouts in. Have tossed and turned every night this week with stuff swirling around in my head. The long and the short, I have too much going on. Triathlon training and working out has taken a back seat...as in way in the back...as in not even in the vehicle back seat.
Its all good stuff, just too much. Hockey is in full swing. Matthew had a 90 minute practice this week...he's 6 yrs old. 90 minutes. Isn't that a bit much? I guess they combined two ice times with the other Novice Tier 3 team and they all played at the same time. And yeah. He is Tier 3!! Love it. I even giggled and did and internal "right on!" when we got the news. He is big for his age but the youngest one out there and this will be good for him...no pressure, no craziness just plain fun hockey!! Some of the kids can barely stand up on skates!! As compared to the Tier 1 players who are little friggin rockets on the ice.
I took on the treasurer's job at the play school. Trying to get my head around all that.
The tri-club swim programs started this week. We made lots of changes and added more times and people are trying to figure it all out (ahem...Chuck...). And if you have a complaint about the new $50 mill Shaw Center ie. that bus routes do not go there...the number of showers...it is too deep...(actual comments I have gotten from people...)...I had nothing to do with the design of the thing!! I am just the little ol swim co-ordinator trying to organize your swimming life!!! Call the City.
What else...work is crazy busy. All of a sudden the markets have a great run and people want to invest their money. Where were you in Jan/Feb/March when the markets were low...low...low?? And all of the wholesalers are coming through town with all their info on what we should be telling clients. My brain is exhausted when I go home. And we ordered a new kitchen. There goes my new bike. But very exciting! Good bye 1964 kitchen!! Hello pot lights and an island and decent cupboards and a dishwasher!!! So I guess this means we are renovating and not moving...sigh.
Lastly, I bought a goat! Yes! A goat, a hen and some chickens. For a village in Africa!! Obviously, it is just a donation through World Vision but maybe some kid will be able to eat and then make their way to school and learn and thrive and then go on to university and get themselves educated and do great things...who knows but that is what I hope for.
That's all folks!!

The reno's will take longer and cost more than planned, even if the contractor has promised the blood of his/her first born as a token of good faith. Save lots of $ for cupboard toys like slidouts and storage racks. I was astounded to learn how much they cost. Good luck with it all! Can't wait to hear about it. We're almost certain to learn some new cuss words out of the experience.
ok just so everyone knows, the sight was not clear on the swim times as two seperate start times were posted for the same swim time...and no i was not whining about the pool being too deep but really it is!!! I will save my whining for my first time in that water....lmao!
Sleep. I often have trouble sleeping. What works sometimes is to get up and start making lists of all the stuff that swirling around in my head. To do. Notes to self. ideas. whatever. Then usually I can lie down again and go to sleep.
Either that or cuddle a cat and read for a while. Hmmm, you could go wake up one of your kids out of a sound sleep, just to tell them that you're thinking of them. So they know how it feels.
I WANT A 50 million dollar pool to complain about!!!! LOL!! Actually, I am VERY lucky -- today, I was the only one in the pool AGAIN. All by myself -- a whole 25m pool all to myself!! MUAH-Ha-ha-hahahahahaha!!
I agree with Keith about the cost of the renos. Mike and I just about killed each other with the stress of renovating -- I'd never do it again. Or, I'd live somewhere else as the renos are taking place.
Because you *think* you are only going to renovate the kitchen, but then the contractor tells you some plumbing is terrible and has to be fixed, and that since the floor has to be removed, why not renovate the other room as well. Oh man it goes on and on.
Good luck!! When it gets rough, then you can use your training as an excuse to get out and let off some steam! :) :) :)
