Well, Matthew won his first hockey game!! It was so fun and cute to watch. I swear if you want to get back to what sport is really about and what FUN with sport is about, come see a Novice hockey game. They have NO IDEA what they are doing....kind of like me and Jenna at our first triathlon at Waskesiu. They were excited and eager and keen and Matthew told everyone he saw yesterday "I am playing a REAL hockey game tonight!!" And before the game he says to me "Mom, is it okay to be nervous?" Awwwww....
I don't think he touched the puck the whole game...seriously. When he got close it was as if there was a 3 meter force field around it and he could not get any closer. Or he would fall down. The coaches were calling off sides and he got to the blue line a couple of times and would look at the coach with some wonder "So...here is the blue line...what was I supposed to do again...??" Very, very fun. Except one of the mom's was yelling her support in my ear the entire night. They played an hour straight, no periods, and the buzzer was set to go every 3 minutes which meant they had to change lines. Everyone got a turn and everyone had the exact same amount on the ice. Next time, Matthew gets to be goalie. He is SUPER excited about this!
And Luke is a rink rat.
If you have been at hockey rinks as a kid, like I was, you know what I mean...
I had some more fartleks to do today but Luke fell out of bed last night at 2:00am and by the time I had him settled down and back to sleep, I was wide awake and was up the rest of the night. But like a trooper, I got up anyway and struggled through a very, very tired run. Yak.
My girlfriends are off to Las Vegas this week to catch a U2 concert...I am doing the Ultra Marathon with Chuck and Jenna...only for you guys would I miss a U2 concert in Vegas!!

Can't believe you are going to miss out on U2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!
The Poop Fairies are lucky to have you!! :) :) :)
So cute about the kidlet hickey game -- I've been to some and I never laughed so hard in my life. They are so cute, skating around in all kinds of directions -- no one knows what's going on. LOL!!!
If U2 is a well known band, here is more evidence I need to get out more.
You couldn't pay me to go to Vegas.
The Poop Fairies will be much more fun, I'm sure of it.
LOL at the "kind of like me and Jenna at our first triathlon at Waskesiu." comment. I wish I could have seen that. :)
Good luck in the race!!!!!
