Could not get outta bed for my run today. Was tired so I slept. Tomorrow is a holiday so I can run a bit longer and do my intervals again.
Here are a couple of conversations I have had with my 6 year old today:
Number One:
Matthew: "Mom, how do you spell "W"?"
Me: "Well, you don't spell it, it's letter. Just one letter so you spell it with the letter."
Matthew: "But Mom, it sounds like a whole word, so you must spell it. How do you spell it?"
Me: "Honey, it is a letter." I make the motion of a W in the air with my finger.
Matthew: "But Mom, it is a WORD!! I just know it. Please tell me how to spell it."
Me: "You can't spell a W!! It is a letter!! You just write the letter and that is how you spell it." Now making the W with the tips of my two thumbs put together.
Matthew: Not one to ever give up..."Mom!! I am getting frustrated!! You must be able to spell W!! It starts with a D and NOT a W!!"
Good point. I could not argue out of that one.
Number Two:
It is 8:15am this morning...we are trying to get out the door and get Luke dropped off at daycare and Matthew to school.
Matthew: "Can we take chocolate chip cookies to school today?"
Me: "What? It's a quarter after 8...we are leaving...I did not make any cookies to take."
Matthew: "Please Mom! Can we take some? We can just stop at the store and buy them."
Me: "Buddy, we just don't have time today to do that. How about after Easter Break we take the class some treats."
Matthew: "Mom, Peyton's Mom brings cookies every week for the class and you have never taken any."
Thanks sweetie. That really makes me feel good!!
