totally...bummed...out

Somedays are better than others.
Cliches are cliches because they are the truth!! This weather is getting to me...really, seriously getting to me.
"We need the rain"
If I hear that one more time, I will spit.
Obviously, they are not doing a half ironman in a few weeks and need to get a longer bike ride in. And I hear the water out at Pike Lake is cold...really cold. And last night it was rough. I do okay in rough water, I am not excited about the cold water. Haunts me from when I was a kid. We grew up near Lake Diefenbaker and waterskiied there every single day in the summer. It was a BIG and COLD lake and my Dad was too cheap to buy us wetsuits. Let me say, lots of incentive to NOT wipe out and stay on your ski!!! It was also a super rough lake. My brother and I actually liked the whitecaps because that meant we could jump with our ski. Aw the innocence of youth. Now...I like to be warm. To top it off, my 2 year old was a little bugger last night and was up a good chunk of the night. I opted for sleep rather than my bike ride this morning. Must get that done tonight. No excuses...I even set my trainer up in the living room before I left for work today, set my clothes out so when I get home tonight, I will just jump on and go. When am I going to get that 3.5 hour ride in? My options are Friday afternoon or way super early Saturday morning. Mother Nature has decided it most likely will be Saturday morning...rats!!

OMG - I have never ever submersed myself in water that cold. Honestly. And I have swum upnorth in northern lakes. big, cold, open cold, cold, cold northern lakes.
If it dosn't feel warmer on race day - i might be opting for a duathlon... here in SK - we do not give out DNF's we just make up a time for the part you don't do and call it a day!! So if its cold - i will not be swimming (ok - cold means really Fing cold)
rough is no issue - cold, eeps I am too old tobe that cold and survive!!

I heartily agree with you Kelly -- I am going to throttle the next fool who says, "We need the rain." WTF??? Who the hell are these people -- frigging climate specialists? It's like all these lemmings following each other around, nodding their heads and in unison saying, "We need the rain."

I don't need the rain!!!!! I don't want the rain. There are no farmers in the Crowsnest Pass that need the rain.

Can you tell the rain is getting to me too?? LOL!!!

heh heh. i just want to see if i can make kelly spit and julie throttle someone. :)

in all seriousness, you can do your long ride on the trainer. no, it isn't fun, but you will still gain fitness from it, if that is what is concerning you. almost all of my rides for IMCDA were trainer rides and when i got outside i was in shock at my fitness.

hang in there guys!
