an pretty good bike ride

I had a loooong bike ride to do today...loooong for me. The schedule called for 2.5 hours. So I multi tasked and biked out to Pike Lake where the TKD school was having a fun day in the park!! Ended up being just shy of 2 hours but I was cool with that. TKD classes and then a bbq and then some water gun fights and soccer games. Was a very nice day and a really good bike ride. I think those plyometric workouts I have been doing are helping. I went out Valley Road and did the two hills out there twice. And I was cruising!! Was lots of fun.
On the way back into town, we needed gas and stopped at the little Pike Lake gas station. There was an older lady sitting on the bench with her bike and all decked out in her biking gear. She was on her cell phone when we pulled up. When she got off the phone, I asked if she was okay and if she needed a ride back into town. She said she was fine but thanks. She was wearing an MS Bike jersey so I asked about the MS Bike Tour coming up. She told me all about it and of course I told her I would be there. She then asked if I was on a team and invited me onto hers!!! She started cycling at age 50 and has done the tour the last 12 years.
My new team's name is "Back of the Bus"!! Hahahahahha!!! She was a super cool gal and was so warm and inviting and we exchanged e-mails and phone numbers. Now I am officially on a team for the MS Bike Tour. Cool!!

the ordeal is over

My truck was found.
At the opposite end of town. A caretaker of an apartment building called it in as he did not think the two guys who got out of it really drove a vehicle "like that". This actually made me laugh because I suddenly felt very cool and hip that I was driving a vehicle "like that". That someone wanted to steal. The truck was in good shape and no damage. It was super dirty and they bastards smoked in it and Subarus do not have ash trays (not like they would have used it anyway...) but they flicked their cig butts all over the interior. And they took everything out...car seats, garage door opener, the baby wipes in the console...they took my friggin toe warmers that go over my bike shoes!! wtf??
Maybe I will see them at a triathlon next summer...

blah

I am officially now navigating the system as someone who has had a vehicle stolen.
Sucks.
I have been asked lots and lots of questions...to the point where I am wondering if I am the criminal? Seriously.
Are you positive the vehicle would not have been re-possesed?
Who else drove the vehicle?
Do you have any suspects?
Are you sure you did not lend it out to someone and forgot? (Wha?)
At one point on the phone with the adjuster yesterday I actually said "Look...I have being paying insurance premiums for 20 years. I have never once made a claim...you have my authorization to look at my records. This is WHY I pay those premiums...for when bad things happen!!"
Get a grip!! I know...I know....they are doing their job...but really...
I have also officially started back into my training regime. I did a bike ride on Monday...a P90X workout Monday night...a solid run Tuesday...before I noticed I HAD NO TRUCK!!! At least I had a good run...
Talked to Coach Justin yesterday and he reminded me I have a half marathon coming up in a few weeks AND a 100km bike ride the weekend after. No problem. He keeps also reminding me we should be building on this fitness and not letting it go so next year is a great one!! Okay...Okay...I am officially back on the training wagon!!

faaaaak

My Subaru was stolen last night.
Out of our locked garage.
The shit heads who stole it broke the window, opened the big garage door, and drove it out into the alley. I am so super annoyed I could spit. I have no vehicle and have to rely on rides from everyone for a bit. Faaaaak....
The postives are these:
--My kids were so excited for the police officer to come to the house. Luke offered up crackers, grapes and juice. They got some super cool police stickers!!
--The police officer was super good looking in his little police uniform.
--The Subaru had less than a quarter tank of gas. Not much to get far.
--The officer said they will likely find it in the next few days, and it will likely be trashed...what the fuck...why??
Today has really sucked so far. And it is not even noon yet. I called my sister in Calgary and of course her great sense of humour made me laugh because she says "Well, at least it wasn't on a Monday, because that would have been REALLY shitty!!!"
On a lighter side of things...I heard a funny word the other day...dohment...One of those slap your forehead moments when you realise that you've just done something incredibly stupid.

Trying to fart...not sure about Luke's face in this one...
