awwww...the weekend...

Had lots on the go this weeked cause next Saturday I have a date with Simon Lessing!! Okay, not a date, but a tri-camp with him and some of the local triathletes. All I can say is THANK GOD Jenna and Chuck will be there, because if I had to be all alone with all the hard cores....not sure how I would fare. And my tri-buddy Shannon will be there so we can chat about all our "team mates" with CTS!! Ha Ha!!! But me thinks there won't be much "chatting" happening. I am actually anxious about how I am going to get my hair blow dried and half-assed done in between the swim and the talk...then we run, then we bike...so maybe a hat?
Anyway, I opted to sleep on Friday as I was supposed to run but it was too damn cold to run. And I did not even feel like getting my butt to a treadmill. Lazy. I did my bike ride yesterday and even did a few minutes extra. Was an interesting ride as I was trying to parent while doing intervals...you know, telling my kids not to fight, give that back, put that down, don't hit him, if I have to get off this bike...blah, blah, blah....
Made it to swimming today. Was a good workout. Everyone was there. All the fast guys were there which meant there were 7 big strong swimmers in our lane and then lil ole me...so I am not so little, but you know what I mean!! So I moved down and swam with the lane 7 boys. Was a hard fricken workout...12 x 200 meters. Holy!! Have not done that in awhile. Feeling it today. I had taken the offspring swimming on Saturday, spent 3 hours in the public, hot, peed in pool...but the boys did not care! See pics below.
Next up is my monthly 5km race tomorrow! I am SO breaking my record from last month. I just wish Mother Nature was on the team as it is supposed to be c-c-c-cold.

my boring life

Sleep, workout, get family ready for the day, get to work, get hassled by clients, go home, get ready for kid's activities, come back home, eat somewhere in there, bathtime, playtime, bedtime. So predictable it is CRAZY!!! How I long for the days when I just did whatever the heck I felt like and had NO responsibilities....take off on my motorcycle for weeks at a time (before cell phones and drove my mother insane!) take off on an adventure somewhere...like the time my girlfriend and i just flew to SanFran on a total whim..no place to stay, did not know anyone, so went to a bar (with our luggage!!) partied ALL night and found lodging the next morning...jeepers.
Sometime between then and now, I grew up!! Sigh.
On THAT note....got my swim in yesterday morning. Not much of a swim. But lots of stroke advice...which is great but I kinda wanted to just swim. When I get tired or I am daydreaming, I tend to shorten my stroke quite a bit. Swim coach Mike said to stop daydreaming!! He actually SAID that!! To think about what I am doing!! I really like swim coach Mike but I felt like I was 12 again....
Both boys are registered for soccer. Luke is so very excited. He tends to get dragged around to Matthew's activties and now he gets to do his own thing. Grandma bought them Webkins. I don't know what to think about Webkins. They are stuffed toys that come with a code that you plunk into the website and you care for the Webkin online. You play games and earn points to buy stuff for your Webkin...I think the whole thing is kind of goofy, and I certainly DO NOT want them spending too much time on the computer...but apparently all the kids have these things and Matthew asked my mom why he does not have one so of course Grandma went out the very next day and got him one....niiiiice. These are kids that do not watch tv, they do play video games but very, very limited, they would rather be outside. We walked down to the school the other night to play on the playground and I had to physically extract them both when it was time to go!! Was a complete gong show...so me thinks the webkin will not do well in our house!!

speaking of peanuts...

www.ilovepeanutbutter.com - is the company that made my dark chocolate dream.
I got the very first phone call from the school last week. Oh yeah! One of my busiest days of the year at work, all pistons firing, the kindergarten teacher calls to tell me Matthew has threatened one of the little girls in his class with peanuts...she is deathly allergic. A death threat? So he lost lots of stuff at home and he was not allowed to stay for lunch this week. He likes to stay for lunch then he has extra time on the playground...rather than wasting that precious time walking to and from daycare for lunch! He was not happy. Oh well.
In training news, I am 3 for 3. Yep. A swim on Sunday. Moved down a lane and swam with the fun guys, and not the fast guys. Just was not really into it so thought I would get into it if I had a few laughs with CoryF and Stephan. Sure enough my mood changed and turned out to be a really good workout. A bike ride last night. Had an early meeting so did not have time to do the workout in the morning, so I let my kids play their video games (gah!!) and I biked for 45 minutes...hey, judge me but you do what ya gotta do.
And then a run this morning. Was a very good run. I love running. I love running in the mornings. The sun was just peeking over the horizon when I was coming home and I LOVED IT!!!
Can't decide about the Simon Lessing clinic. What should I do? The organizer has offered me a one day deal...rather than go for two days I can choose either day to attend (Thank-you!!!). That is ALOT of working out for one day!! And I just cannot commit time wise to two days and would be totally bagged for the rest of the week if I had to do ALL those workouts! Let's do my half ironman...in March!!! Jenna, CoryF and Chuck will be there so I can count on a good ab workout from laughing...
In other news...I still have the bike. Yes. My found mountain bike that the lost and found people were supposed to come and get and I have called them twice and they keep telling me they are coming. I am calling them one more time and if it is not gone by the end of the week, Kelly has a brand new mountain bike!!!

the perfect food

I have found it.
It it is at Dad's Organic Food market (or whatever that place is called on 8th street beside the xxx video store...)
It's called "Dark Chocolate Dreams" Truly! I found it at the food store and NOT the dirty video store!
It is...are you ready?
It's peanut butter mixed with dark chocolate!
OMG!!! Can you BELIEVE IT!!!
And it's all natural...no preservatives, it's gluten free, it has no trans fats etc. etc.
I have eaten half the jar.
