Really nothing to report but bored so...

And not really bored either, just lots I could do but don't feel like doing it. I think we all have these days. To top it off, my car is in real trouble. The clutch is gone and I am sitting here anxiously awaiting the phone call from the guy with the estimate...I will post it here later so we can all barf together. Was having more fun yesterday when I was debating "what do you think is a sexy name?" with a friend. Idle e-mail banter gets me through the day...especially days like this. I was supposed to run this morning but I had a terrible sleep worrying about my darn auto. And my swim is out tomorrow a.m. unless I grow wings and can fly to the pool. shitty.

Oops...I deleted my last post by mistake

Or I should say, one of my kids did. Lesson: don't leave your children unattended.

Sunday Swim

Got to my swim today. Tried out the new goggles (love them!) and new suit. Was a pretty good workout, lots of pull, some with pull-buoys and some with just paddles...eww, my arms and shoulders feel like I have been hauling bags of sand around. I can't remember how much we did, somewhere around 4000, I think. Nothing really fast, just long distance stuff. But felt good in the water. The number...157...this was a nice surprise that I managed to maintain things through being sick as I ate and ate and ate...mostly take out crap!! So good for me!! And made my weekly trek to Winners. I splurged and bought a new pair of jeans...$25...yep, the last pair I bought was $6 at vv's so this was a GREAT find!!

Saturday Run

What a morning...woke up before the alarm that was set for 6:00am. Checked the weather...minus 30 something with a wicked windchill. Guess I am looking for a treadmill today. I had called one of the local gyms yesterday and specifically asked "What time do you open on Saturday mornings?" The answer...5:30am. Perfect. I just wanted to be around people this morning!! Arrive at the gym around 6:45...Sign says, Saturdays open at 8:00am. Frustration!! Thank goodness I had the wits to remember my pass to the office gym cause that is where I did my hour run. BOREDOM! But got it done and in my hr ranges JP prescribed so all was good. Stopped into the Roastery for a coffee...another treat to myself for getting the job done. Had my Friday talk with JP yesterday. He is getting a bit tougher, imo!! I told him it was going to be cold today to do my run and I was looking for maybe a "you can skip this one" or "you don't have to go the whole hour" but NO...I got "Well, I guess you are on the treadmill tomorrow morning. And make sure you are at the top of that HR range" YIKES! And we reviewed the training for next week and he says "I want you tired, beat tired by the end of the week...every workout is as hard as you can next week." Thanks JP!!

Back at it

Last night I spent the evening at one of the local bike shops learning about all sorts of bike related things. A very well spent 2.5 hours. I can now confidently change both my tires on my bike...no problem. Who knew how important a set of nail clippers and baby powder could be when it comes to bike maintenance? I could have spent another 4 hours there picking the guy's brain and having him show me every inch of my bike. He was honest and said the yellow cervelo needs some loving and I need to get her to him soon. She is apparently a legend, the very first cervelo in Saskatoon about 10 years ago and he has worked on her several times. I also picked out a new helmet that is super cool!! It is red and white (the same colors as the CSC Team...and yes, I had to ask what that meant!!) and has some funky stuff happening at the back. I look like the villian from the Spiderman movie!! Except he was green, but I will post a picture as it is very fun!! Does red and white go with a yellow bike? I will have to find an outfit that co-ordinates everything together... Got onto my bike this morning for 45 minutes. I was wanting to do an hour but could not get my a** out of bed. Going for a run tomorrow am and a swim on Sunday.
