is stalking still illegal...?

Just curious as I am sure everyone has heard by now that my second husband, Craig Alexander (ahem...world champ...) is going to be in Calgary. We are going to be doing the same race!! He, slightly faster than moi, but how cool! AND he is a team mate...sort of...he is also coached by the Carmichael group...so are we team mates? Can I dream about that? I get the low down on his training and Whitfield's traning and Lance "the man" Armstrong's training every so often from Coach Justin. Dang, those guys are freaks of nature....seriously...freaks.
So back to me.
I have been doing my workouts. Next week is taper week so I am trying to get those last chance intensity workouts in. Yeah...yeah...I know...the last 8 weeks have been the ones that count but I am feeling pretty darn good about things and need to do these workouts now and not next week. Coach Justin's advice is "Don't do too much!!" Less is better right now. Done the work, done the time, done the training...now get your body ready to go fast.
Yesterday was a run with some tempo intervals thrown in for fun. Dang my legs felt good!! I held 5 minute kms for the tempos and my heart rate was behaving. They weren't easy, but they were very doable. Nice.
Today was a bike ride for an hour with some steady state intervals...then a 30 minute run. And dang again, my legs felt peppy getting off that bike. Please...please...please to the tri-gods, do not let me have anything bad mechanical happen to me on my bike....this is my biggest worry. Tomorrow is likely my last swim before the big dance. Gulp!!
This is my other worry...because I am a goal orientated being, I have been trying to think of what I would like to do for this race. You know, what should I aim for. Then the other half of me says "whoa, cowgirl" You just don't know what the day is going to throw at you. So no matter what happens, these will be my mantra's for each leg of the race:
Swim: steady...steady...steady...long and strong...
Bike: steady...steady...steady...it's a loooong day out here...stay in your aerobars...eat...drink and be merry!!
Run: Don't cry (last year I started bawling on the run...for no real reason other than I could not believe I had just pedaled 90km and was going to run 21km (a half marathon!!!...insane...)...get to Susi at the finish...get to Susi, she has my medal...get to my boys...get to Bevin (sister)...beer at Keith's house...beer at Keith's house...get this f*cking thing DONE!!!

The 6 hours will go quick. Try not to be distracted by the scenery. Oh, and don't look at the mountains and valleys and such either, it will still be there the next day and you can look then.

Yeah...I'm looking at the race as being a minor detour enroute the post race festivities chez Keith/Linda's place!

And WTF is up with the heat times. My heat is dead last...how am I going to draft off of you now?!?

I'm excited I got the go ahead from my coach that I will be doing the race after all -- so I can go to Keith and Linda's afterward. LOL!!
