a real shitty day

The phone rang last night, late, and you know when the phone rings late at night it is never good news. The owner of the business next door to Shaun says come quick there is a fire. Shaun races across town and the entire building is up in flames. Three businesses...gone...ours included.
Holy Shit.
I have been on the verge of tears all day. I am at work but going through the motions. This is not going to be good times for us. Of course, little is known right now and the tricky part is not to speculate and over think what is going to happen. We have insurance, we will have to tough this out and take this all one step at a time. We have had calls from all over the city offering up help and support.
Thank-you!
Thank-you!
THANK YOU!!!!
The saving grace is that the way the fire burned, and the shop was in the end space, most of the biggest equipment was unharmed. The firefighters apparently did "damage control"...whatever that means...I think it had something to do with the explosive gasses and welding tanks ...but the entire building around the shop is destroyed.
And Shaun got his ski-doo out.
You know...priorities!!!

Oh Kelly, I am so sorry to hear about this!

Hang in there girl -- it sounds like you have a good community of people there looking out for you...

And hey, at LEAST he got the skidoo out right? :) :) :) :)

I hope the insurance and everything gets settled quickly for you.

Not a good thing to happen at all.

But think of it this way. It's only stuff. Maybe expensive stuff, but stuff can be replaced. You are insured, hopefully replacement value. The worst part of the whole thing is likely to be arguing with the insurance company.

I'm surprised to hear that the emergency crews let anyone in for any reason at all, let alone a sled.

Yikes that sucks but Keith is right - it is only stuff - no one was hurt right? I will be okay Kelly - stay in the 5 minute box and deal with things as they come and try not to worry about things that are not in the box.

Wow, I am really sorry to hear about that. But like your buds have already said, at least no one got hurt. Plus, you have insurance and are a pretty smart/tough cookies so you guys will be OK. Not too mention you have a great community around you.

Oh no, I am so sorry to hear this Kelly. A shitty day indeed. Hopefully the insurance will be able to reimburse you and cover all or most of the loss. Hang in there-it can only get better from here...
