thank GOD it was raining...

I woke up in good time to get my bike ride in today...but it was raining...and I am a sucky and do not want to bike in the rain!! So I went back to bed...because I was beat tired yesterday. I have far too many things going on in my life. One day at a time, I guess!
Talked to Coach Justin yesterday. His advice is to do the sprint triathlon on the 14th. Sounds good to me! Do the race and then run another 5 km....OH! Wasn't expecting to hear that.
My children got in ALOT of trouble today. I nearly beat them. It was close. I was so mad at them it took me the entire trip downtown to calm down. Here is what they did...they have been told countless times NOT to leave the yard. We live in an older area of town with back alleys. I don't want them back there because I do not know who might be coming by and if they happen to run behind a vehicle backing out of a garage or driveway, chances are the driver will not see them. We have a HUGE back yard...lots and lots of room to run back there, they don't need to be in the back alley. Matthew has grown tall enough to undo the latch...I look back there this morning and the gate is wide open. I call out the back door but get no answer. I put my shoes on and make my way to the back gate, calling the whole time...still no answer. I get to the gate and peek down the alley...no sign of them. I am mad but getting scared...I walk down the alley, calling them the entire time...they are not responding. I am now furious. And feeling sorry for them for when I do see them.... Anyway, the little buggers ventured OUT of the alley at the end of the block and down the street...a semi-busy street....they are 6 and 3 years old...just wandering down the street...they had their swords with them so they were sword fighting at the same time...Luke was wearing his pirate hat...as soon as they saw me, the look on their faces was priceless as they knew what was coming!! They have lost nearly all of their priveleges for after work/school...and I suspect food is not a privelege...but a necessity?

Food is a necessity. But dessert isn't. And food can be all the things they don't like. I'm sure you have a list.

Could always put a lock on the back gate, if that's what it takes.

Buy me a beer during your visit here, and I'll tell you about the first time I ran away from home. You won't be so unhappy then.

lol..I can just see the "shit we are so busted faces!!" Too funny. I ran away once with my red wagon and some lime juice and crackers. Back in the day, parents never worried cause they knew you would come home if you got hungry enough. Plus, other people have a tendancy to RETURN children that are not theirs. I was returned LOTS. Ha!! I wonder why??

But I do agree, back alleys are dangerous cause no one expects two kids to be sword fighting when they are backing out or they are speeding through them.

:) Bet you are kinda smiling now about it??

So sprint it is!! and then 5 k more (Justin is a funneee guy)

LOL about the food comment. Wow, I would have been scared/mad too. I'm glad they were found safe and in one piece. :)
