Our lives are inspired by the dreams we have from the earliest stages of our youth. When you combine passion and hard work, then success is always possible. While no road is every straight, dedication and persistence will always lead you to your dreams.

If you want it, there's a place to get it, but it ain't pretty.
Well, that title sums it up today for me! The alarm went off at 5:15am and I did the stunned, it can't be that time already, oh my god, what am I DOING! I got up anyway, went to the computer to check the weather...-33 degrees with the wind. YIKES! No thanks. But I live in Saskatchewan and we get MANY days like this and I will not let this hamper my goals. So off I go to the treadmill. I am cheap and did not want to pay the $10 the gym down the street asks for a drop in fee and we have a perfectly good gym in my office building...all the weights, treadmill, bikes, big plasma screen tv, showers etc. And it is FREE. It only took me 8 minutes to drive there so now I really have no excuses when it gets too cold. 10 minute warm-up and a 40 minute run at my Steady State heart rate, and a cool down and I was pleased! Not the most exciting thing I have done, the boredom may kill me...seriously...and there is plenty of room to set up a trainer. I may just pay the $10 sometimes to see other humans at that ungodly hour. I feel good about that run today. I haven't ran on a treadmill for a very long time.

You know, that sounds like a close approximation of heaven. Working out with nobody else around. No waiting for machines, or having someone kick you off just as you're getting your groove going. And FREE!!!!!!!!!!!! Plus you get going early to miss the traffic. (ummm, does Saskatchewan have any places where there's actual traffic?) (Kidding!)
The traffic was especially stressful yesterday due to the weather and people forgetting their winter driving skills...it took me almost 20 minutes to get home from downtown...and I picked my kids up from daycare...
